Looks like a well-known spa treatment junkie dubbed the “Botox Bandit” made her way up to the Big Apple from her home state of Florida. According to the NY Post , a woman named Jaimie Merk hit up Susan Ciminelli Day Spa on East 51st Street in May, where she received a facial and purchased five bottles of skin cream. She paid for her $504.04 bill (no tip!) with a check that eventually bounced; after a credit card she held her reservation under was declined, the employees finally turned to Google where they quickly stumbled upon her fraudulent past. According to the St. Petersburg Times , the 33-year-old Merk is currently a fugitive from Florida due to similar crimes (” Once, in a courtroom , a doctor testified that her self-esteem was so low that she resorts to stealing Botox to feel better”) and may have moved to New York or New Jersey. There’s a Jaimie Merk working at Bradford Barnes Associates, a Manhattan temp agency, but they have not yet commented on the case. The NYPD have named Merk a “person of interest” (pictured is the surveillance tape of her at Ciminelli Spa). The spa’s owner told the Post, “I can’t believe someone would risk jail time over something like this.”
