Last Night’s Action: A Drought Ends Without A Win

Sabres 2, Rangers 1: The Rangers almost went the equivalent entire length of the Oscars telecast without a goal. Then they scored and lost in overtime. The Rangers had gone 149 minutes and 30 seconds without a goal when Brandon Dubinsky scored with 1:16 remaining. In the extra session, Henrik Lundqvist got beat by Patrick Kaleta 2:22 into overtime on a rebound to ruin another good outing. He had another 30 saves for the Rangers, who didn’t get a shot off in overtime. Oilers 2, Devils 0: Alberta wasn’t too friendly to the Devils. After losing in Calgary, New Jersey got shutout in Edmonton against the worst team in the NHL. The Devils had only 22 shots overall.
