Last Night’s Action: Nets Rout Knicks

Nets 113, Knicks 93: Just in case there was any doubt the Knicks were struggling. Devin Harris put up 31 points and helped key a second quarter in which the Nets outscored the Knicks, 34-18. The Nets are now 7-55 and appear in good shape to not set the NBA’s record for futility of nine wins. The Knicks, led by David Lee’s 23 points, aren’t much better at 21-41. Capitals 2, Rangers 0: For the second straight game, the Rangers shut down a superstar. For the second straight game, it didn’t matter. Alex Ovechkin, much like Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby on Thursday, didn’t score, but it didn’t matter. The Rangers couldn’t beat Jose Theodore on their 30 shots. Henrik Lundqvist got a rest, and Alex Auld got the pleasure of no help while playing in net. Bruins 3, Islanders 2: Josh Bailey and Matt Moulson scored for the Islanders, but that didn’t do much for the Islanders, who lost their second straight and third of four.
