Rangers Wake Up in Third to Draw First Blood

For two periods, Game 1 of the Rangers-Devils Eastern Conference finals looked similar to the Blueshirts’ first two rounds. Blocked shots, few great scoring chances and Henrik Lundqvist’s making save after save. Then the third period opened up into a veritable offensive explosion. Dan Girardi and Chris Kreider beat Martin Brodeur before Artem Anisimov found an empty net to remove all doubt in a 3-0 win . Woman Charged With Attempted Murder Had Messy Relationship With Boyfriend

On Friday, a 22-year-old woman was arrested and charged with attempted murder for stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife. Yekaterina Pusepa initially claimed that boyfriend Alec Katsnelson had stabbed himself in the chest during an argument inside their Gold Street apartment, but after coming out of surgery, Katsnelson told police she had stabbed him. Neighbors think the two will work it out though: “They’ll be back together, I guarantee it,” sone neighbor told the Post . “He’s going to forgive her, I just know it.” [ more › ]

Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes responded to Mayor Bloomberg’s criticism of his policy that allows ultra-Orthodox rabbis to hear complaints of sexual abuse before they’re reported to the authorities. “Ya know, had he bothered to reach out, I would have explained that I didn’t object to someone going to see a rabbi…but I certainly expected that they would report promptly any allegations of sexual abuse,” Hynes told CBS.
