The woman accused of abandoning her two young daughters alongside the busy Shore Parkway in Brooklyn was set up by the girls’ abusive father, relatives tell WPIX . “What it all boils down to is the money,” says Dalisha Adams’s aunt Amy. She says Shawn Cobbs, Adams’s estranged boyfriend and father of her daughters, is the one who abandoned the girls, as part of a scheme worked out with their grandmother. Adams’s brother Peyisai also maintains that his sister handed the girls off to Cobbs. “I don’t know if he walked off and left the kids,” says Peyisai. “I really can’t answer.” [ more › ]

We all cringed at the recently-released montage of nail-biting car crashes in New Jersey caused by drivers who run red lights. The company who provides the most red light cameras in the country, American Traffic Solutions, noted that 11 people were killed in the state in 2009 as a resulting of red-light running related collisions. [Update Below] The family of the 73-year-old woman who died after she was set on fire in a Prospect Heights elevator earlier this month still haven’t been able to bury her—and even the people who pledged to help them haven’t done so. The family of Deloris Gillespie, who was allegedly killed by Jerome Isaac, spoke out yesterday about the hardships they’ve gone through since the horrific crime took place: “This family has been victimized twice. First by a madman and now by a gentleman who has shown depraved indifference to their plight,” said Councilmember Letitia James, referring to a Manhattan hedge fund manager and his friend who had pledged to help pay for a memorial service today, but never gave the money. Click here to view the full photogallery. Former Playboy centerfold Barbi Benton and her husband, the sartorially daring real estate developer George Gradow, currently have their longtime Bel Air, Calif. home listed for $11.95M. Benton, who spent quite a few of her early years living with Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has been splitting her time between Bel Air and Aspen, Colo., where she and Gradow own a spectacular hillside structure. Gradow, who made much of his money through investment in mobile home parks, recently spent a few years in the federal pen, courtesy of a conviction for tax fraud. Soon after his release in 2008, the couple listed this sprawling, 11,600-square-foot mansion for $17.5M, but after a series of price chops (and one price hike) the price is down to a lowly $11.95M. The house looks like it could be a product of the ’70s, but was actually built in 1990, and sits on 2.75 acres with views over the nearby hilltops to the city. · Barbi Benton Lists Los Angeles Dream House [The Real Estalker]
