Bernie Fine Accusers Sue Syracuse, Jim Boeheim For Defamation

Among other things, the pair are suing over comments Boeheim made after the resurfaced earlier regarding their case, specifically when he said: “The reason this came open now is that another person has come forward, right? It’s his relative….Well, why didn’t he come forward before? Here’s why: The Penn State thing came out and the kid behind this is trying to get money. He’s tried before. And now he’s trying again.” Though Boeheim later apologized for questioning the motives of the pair (and they are now suing for unspecified monetary damages), it was too little and too late for Allred and her clients. Video: Lonely NYC Toy Takes A Cross Country Trip, Thanks To Google Street View

With Google Street View offering up every inch of the country on your computer screen (even the High Line and Central Park ), even the cubicle-bound can go on a little adventure… like this little guy. Tom Jenkins created a stop motion animation short that follows a “lonely desk toy” who leaves “the dark confines of the office” and takes a road trip, using a toy car and Google Maps Street View. The short starts off in NYC, and brings him all the way to the Pacific Coast… blink and you might miss R2D2 looking a little jealous. [ more › ]

Occupy New School "Demands" Include Whey Protein, Police Scalps

The Occupation of The New School —which is really an occupation of the school’s Student Center in the privately owned building at 90 Fifth Avenue—huffed and puffed this weekend over a supposed hit job in the Times . And speaking of hit jobs, a senior at the school who ” just wants our study space back ” sent us an image of some of the—we certainly hope joking—demands of the young movement written on the walls in the Student Center. “Wit” and “a real Chinese restaurant” we can understand, but we aren’t sure there even are 1 billion cops out there to be scalped! Young, Laid Off Wall Street Suits Can’t Believe Employers Are So Cruel

Will no one think of the young bankers in these hard economic times? Between the third quarters of 2008 and 2011 the financial sector lost 110,000 employees between the ages of 20 and 34. DealBook spoke to one 28-year-old former Credit Suisse employee, who was hired and fired in a week’s time. “I did everything right. I came into work every day, I put in long hours, and I still got punched in the face.” [ more › ]

Donating Food For Thanksgiving? Hold The Sodas And Ramen

Thursday is Thanksgiving and that means not just balloon-filled parades and massive meals —it also means it is time for the annual moment where Americans across the country go “Oh, crap, we should probably give some food, time or money to the needy.” But do note: as most sitcoms should have taught you by now, food pantries really need your help on days that aren’t Thanksgiving or Christmas. And if you want to to give food, well, there are lots of things you probably shouldn’t be giving. Like sugary drinks and junk food. [ more › ]

John Malkovich Is Strangling Hookers With Their Bras At BAM

Last night, while protesters were marching over the Brooklyn Bridge , John Malkovich was marching over dead prostitutes at BAM at its premiere of The Infernal Comedy: Confessions Of A Serial Killer . If the idea of Malkovich Malkovich playing real-life Austrian Hannibal Lecter Jack Unterweger as he gives a book tour in hell accompanied by a trio of opera sopranos sounds up your alley—well, the show runs through tomorrow. And you won’t be disappointed. The show is a beautifully sung jukebox opera—but in English (“The international language of love,” Malkovich as Unterweger explains) and with ladies being strangled to death with their bras. House of the Day: This Timeless Tudor is Fully Equipped for Telecommuting

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We’d love to see what you’ve got. Click here to view the full photogallery. Location: Tuxedo Park, N.Y. Price: $4,250,000 The Skinny: Stately old-school homes like this are common in the NYC suburb of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., but not all of them are ready to help their owner cut out the commute. Judging from the office—equipped with four monitors, a laptop, and two TVs—there are few reasons to make the commute to the Big Apple. That means more time to enjoy the rest of the house, a 10,000-square-foot Tudor with views of the lake. Set on four acres of hillside, the nine-bedroom, 6.5-bath mansion features “original wood flooring, custom millwork, leaded glass windows…carved stone fireplaces” and a mahogany-paneled library. Listed for $4.25M, this is one of the most expensive homes currently on the market in Tuxedo Park. · James W. Henning Estate [Sotheby's]
