A study by the psych journal Perception suggests that certain carpets induce nausea. “The carpet image was not moving; the people were not moving, but they reported feelings of self-motion and motion sickness,” said one psych professor about participants who looked at a black-and-white patterned rug for five minutes. Yesterday, the 24-year-old Brooklyn man who admitted to killing four people and injuring four others during a 28-hour stabbing rampage across Brooklyn and Manhattan last February was sentenced to 200 years to life in prison. Maksim Gelman was completely without remorse during his sentencing , got into verbal arguments with family members of the deceased, and continued to blame his victims and the police for his murderous rampage: “I am not the bad guy; these people who died, they did bad things to me. It’s not my fault all this happened; the cops knew about it.” [ more › ]

Maksim Gelman , the 24-year-old Brooklyn man who plead guilty to killing four people and injuring four others during a 28-hour stabbing rampage across Brooklyn and Manhattan last February, is due to be sentenced this week. He discussed the murderous rampage in a long jailhouse interview with the Daily News , and claimed he was responsible for six more murders before this year: “All my friends, they all tell me I’m crazy,” he said in a phone interview from Rikers Island. “I believe I’m schizophrenic and bi-polar…I know what’s going on but I tend to overreact.” [ more › ]
